JD: Art Director – Innovations

We build tech-driven prototypes that solve real human problems. This isn't campaign advertising. It's rapid R&D where creativity meets code: immersive installations, IoT applications, AR experiences, product design, and culturally grounded innovation engineered for societal impact and business value.
The role:
You'll visualize and art-direct innovation prototypes across two core outputs: Pitch decks that sell the idea to brands and partners — think 30-slide narratives with product renders, user journey flows, and impact data visualizations. Digital interfaces — dashboards, app mockups, AR overlays, kiosk screens — that show how the tech actually works. Your work moves ideas from rough sketches to fundable proposals to award-winning case studies.
What you'll do:
— Concept and visualize innovation ideas: product mockups, spatial installations, AR/VR interfaces, experiential blueprints
— Design high-impact pitch decks and proposals that sell prototypes to brands, juries, and impact partners
— Collaborate with engineers, copywriters, and strategists to pressure-test visual feasibility and refine executions
— Build visual systems for physical prototypes (packaging, product design, installation graphics, kiosk interfaces)
You should have:
— Strong conceptual and visual craft across digital and physical formats
— Ability to rapidly visualize ideas: from rough sketches to polished renders to final execution
— Comfort working at the intersection of design, product, and technology (IoT devices, AR/VR interfaces, spatial installations)
— Portfolio demonstrating work beyond traditional advertising: prototypes, experiential design, speculative concepts, or product design
— Collaborative mindset — you work fluidly with tech teams, not just other creatives
Design tools you must work on:
— Figma / Adobe XD – UI/UX flows, interactive prototypes, digital interface design
— Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign (deck design, visual identity, print/digital assets)
— Blender / Cinema 4D / SketchUp – 3D product renders, spatial visualization, installation mockups
— After Effects / Premiere Pro – Motion graphics, case study video edits, animated explainers
Bonus tools:
— Spline / Unity / Unreal Engine (for AR/VR/3D web experiences)
— Procreate / iPad sketching workflow (for rapid concepting)
Bonus points:
— Prior work in innovation labs, design studios, or tech R&D environments
— Experience designing for physical products, installations, or spatial experiences
— Understanding of award-circuit visual storytelling (Cannes, Spikes, D&AD case studies)
— Fabrication or prototyping experience (laser cutting, 3D printing, electronics)
What this isn't:
Traditional ad agency art direction. No static print ads, no TV commercials, no social media carousels. If you want to art-direct campaigns, this isn't the role. If you want to design the future, it is.
