Job Description

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and market share in the assigned territory through effective distributor management, retail expansion. The role focuses on achieving volume, revenue, and visibility targets while building a strong and motivated sales team to sustain long-term growth.

Exposure to Franchise sales is an added advantage

Responsibilities

Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.

Monitor secondary sales and ensure optimum stock levels at distributors and retail outlets.

Channel Development & Retail Expansion

Appoint, onboard, and manage distributors ensuring healthy ROI and operational efficiency

Monitor distributor claims, outstanding payments, and adherence to company policies.

Team Management & Development

Market Intelligence & Reporting

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities
  • Sound understanding of FMCG sales channels and trade dynamics
  • Data-driven approach with strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver consistent results

Qualification & Experience:

  • Post-Graduate in Business Administration, Sales, or Marketing
  • 1012 years of FMCG sales experience, with at least 2 years in a line managerial role
  • Exp in General Trade is mandatory; exposure to Franchise sales is an added advantage
