About the Role
The
Area Sales Manager Gold Loan is responsible for driving gold loan business growth across assigned branches in Mumbai or Delhi. This includes identifying high-potential locations, expanding distribution channels, recruiting and managing sales teams, and ensuring strong portfolio performance. The role also involves maintaining compliance, enhancing customer experience, and supporting the overall profitability of the gold loan vertical.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Identify branches and potential locations for gold loan business through market surveys and competitive mapping of NBFCs and banks.
- Expand distribution channels by identifying non-branch avenues for gold loan acquisition.
- Ensure Gold Loan Officer (GLO) productivity of lakhs per month in new business and achieve 80% renewals on eligible customers.
- Recruit and manage dedicated gold loan personnel, including GLOs and Territory Managers, for customer acquisition.
- Grow the Assets Under Management (AUM) for gold loan products while meeting revenue, cost, profitability, and portfolio quality targets.
- Collaborate with the Product Head Business Loan to offer best-in-class funding and multi-funding solutions, ensuring DSTs are appropriately incentivized.
- Ensure timely renewals of gold loan customers to retain and grow the customer base.
- Maintain strong relationships with valuers and valuation agencies.
- Train gold loan officers on fraud detection and identification of counterfeit ornaments.
- Design a seamless and fulfilling customer journey to enhance satisfaction and position IDFC FIRST Bank as the preferred banking partner.
- Ensure adherence to internal compliance and regulatory frameworks across all operations.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Recommend process changes to improve service efficiency and quality across the assigned area.
- Suggest policy and procedural enhancements to drive operational excellence and superior customer service.
- Leverage internal synergies by collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
What We Are Looking For
Education
- Graduation: Full time graduate in any discipline from a recognised institution.
- Post-graduation: Postgraduate in any discipline from a recognised institution.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in retail banking, preferably in gold loan or asset-based lending within BFSI industry.
- Experience in team management, customer acquisition, and portfolio oversight.
