Job Description

Job Description & Responsibilities:

  • Architecture & Design: Design and architect enterprise-grade data analytics solutions, with a strong focus on building scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS. Ensure that the solutions align with industry best practices and organizational goals.
  • Data Pipelines & Validation: Develop and implement effective data pipelines, processes, and validation mechanisms that support enterprise-level data analytics. Ensure these pipelines are resilient, scalable, and optimized for performance.
  • Project Leadership: Lead project teams in setting technical direction for large-scale data initiatives. Demonstrate the ability to guide cross-functional teams in a complex matrix organization to ensure the successful delivery of data and analytics projects.
  • Collaboration & Liaison Role: Serve as the key liaison to overseas HIH resources working across various data and analytics projects. Collaborate with stakeholders across different functions to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Best Practices & Governance: Advocate for and enforce best practices, including data governance, security standards, and guidelines within all projects. Drive adherence to architectural principles while promoting a focus on quality, security, and performance.
  • Attention to Detail: Exhibit a high level of attention to detail when designing systems, ensuring that every component adheres to organizational standards and operates seamlessly.
  • Proactive Mindset & Problem-Solving: Possess a proactive approach, identifying potential challenges and opportunities for optimization. Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively to develop data and analytic solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership. Communicate clearly and effectively to ensure alignment across all levels of the organization.

Required Skills:

  • Data Architecture & Cloud Infrastructure: Extensive experience in building large-scale cloud infrastructure, particularly in AWS, with deep knowledge of key services such as S3, EC2, Lambda, Redshift, and others.
  • Pipeline & Process Design: Strong background in designing robust data pipelines, validation mechanisms, and workflows that support enterprise-scale data processing and analytics.
  • Software Engineering Principles: Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles. Ability to apply these principles effectively in designing scalable and maintainable systems.
  • Leadership Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role setting technical direction and guiding project teams through complex projects.
  • Matrix Organization Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working in complex matrix organizations, coordinating cross-functional or cross-business projects, and driving successful outcomes.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and implement data and analytic solutions with a focus on innovation and efficiency.
  • Proactive & Independent Work Style: Demonstrates a proactive mindset, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in system design, ensuring that solutions are reliable, optimized, and in line with business and technical requirements.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Databricks platform, Snowflake platform, Teradata platform and data engineering concepts.
  • Familiarity with data governance and security practices in cloud environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, or Scala for data processing and analytics.
  • Proficiency in designing architecture, building API Integrations, configuring and deploying cloud services, setting up authentication, monitoring and logging.

Required Experience & Education:

  • Experience: 13 to 16 years of experience in data architecture, systems engineering, or solution architecture, particularly within the data analytics or cloud computing space.
  • Technical Experience: Proven experience building enterprise-level data and analytics solutions on AWS, with an emphasis on scalability, performance, and security.
  • Leadership: At least 5 years of leadership experience, managing technical teams and setting direction in complex environments.
  • Matrix Organization: A minimum of 6 years of experience working in a matrix organization, managing cross-functional or cross-business projects.
  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
