We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and technically proficient Architectural Drafter / 3D Visualizer to join our team. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives on turning conceptual sketches into precise technical sets and photorealistic visualizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Documentation & Drafting: Prepare comprehensive Good for Construction (GFC) drawings, including floor plans, sections, elevations, and detailed joinery/enlarged details.
- 3D Modeling & Visualization: Transform 2D CAD files and hand sketches into high-fidelity 3D models and produce photorealistic renderings and walk-throughs for client presentations.
- Material Research & Application: Apply realistic textures and lighting in 3D environments, demonstrating an understanding of materiality, MEP integration, and site context.
- Standards Compliance: Ensure all working drawings adhere to municipal building codes, NBC standards, and the firm's specific drafting protocols.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Architects and Interior Designers to refine design iterations based on technical feasibility and structural requirements.
- Project Archiving: Maintain organized digital libraries of assets, families, and project-specific drawing logs.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in architecture, Diploma in Civil Engineering, or a certified professional course in Architectural Drafting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in AutoCAD and 3ds Max/SketchUp. Mastery of rendering engines such as V-Ray, Lumion, or Enscape is essential.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction technology, structural systems, and the ability to read and interpret complex architectural drawings.
- Attention to Detail: An eagle eye for line weights, annotations, and scale to ensure error-free documentation.
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify and resolve geometric or technical discrepancies during the 3D modeling process.
- Efficiency: Proven ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high output quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: 24 years of experience in a similar role within a fast-paced design studio.
- Post-Production: High proficiency in Adobe Photoshop for post-processing renderings and creating architectural montages.
- BIM Expertise: Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit for parametric modeling and documentation.
- Animation: Experience in creating architectural animations or VR (Virtual Reality) experiences is a significant plus.
