Job Description

Mata Amritanandamayi Mandir Trust (MAMAT) is developing one of India's largest Cultural & Heritage Theme Parks at Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu. Spanning 83 acres, the project blends ancient Indian architecture, spiritual heritage, and cutting-edge immersive technologies to create a world-class destination celebrating Sanatana Dharma and the Pride of Bharat.

The park will feature a 108-meter monumental stone sanctum, immersive museums, multimedia theatres, water shows, and curated experiences for millions of visitors annually. MAMAT works with leading architects, structural engineers, cultural experts, and technology partners to deliver a global landmark of culture, spirituality, and sustainability by 2029.

Role Description

  • Design Review & ManagementReview architectural, structural, and MEP drawings for accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Maintain a centralized log of drawing revisions, RFIs, and approvals, ensuring version control across all disciplines.
  • Analyze and highlight design discrepancies early to avoid rework during execution.
  • Coordination & Stakeholder CommunicationOrganize and facilitate design review meetings with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Act as the primary interface between project design teams and on-site construction staff for clarifications and technical decisions.
  • Coordinate with heritage experts, sthapathis, and cultural consultants to maintain design authenticity and Vastu alignment.
  • Compliance & Quality ControlEnsure architectural designs meet safety, structural, aesthetic, and sustainability standards.
  • Verify that designs align with heritage and cultural requirements, including traditional stone masonry practices.
  • Support the vetting process with academic and technical bodies to obtain timely approvals.
  • Documentation & ReportingPrepare and circulate meeting minutes, progress reports, and approval logs for management and stakeholders.
  • Maintain a real-time design coordination dashboard to track pending decisions, timelines, and risks.
  • Execution SupportCollaborate with site engineers and contractors to ensure drawings are correctly implemented during construction.
  • Provide on-site architectural clarifications and address technical queries from the field team.
  • Support quality audits for architectural works and fabrication drawings.

Bachelor's degree in Architecture (B.Arch) or equivalent; Master's in Architecture or specialization in Heritage/Monumental Architecture is a plus.

  • Proven design management and architectural coordination skills, especially for large-scale or multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience in project management, submittal review processes, and drawing/documentation workflows.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and external agencies.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site at Mahabalipuram/Chennai and coordinate between multiple stakeholders in real time.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle parallel tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and project coordination tools; knowledge of BIM workflows is desirable.
  • Prior experience in construction, architectural consulting, or heritage projects is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with Vastu principles or traditional Indian construction techniques preferred but not mandatory.
