Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Architect / Lead .NET Developer to design and deliver secure, scalable cloud-first solutions on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in .NET (C#), modern architecture and design patterns, SQL Server, and Azure PaaS, with hands-on experience guiding engineering standards, CI/CD, and application modernization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own solution architecture and technical design for .NET-based applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
  • Design and build APIs and services using .NET (C#), applying SOLID principles and design patterns (e.g., Factory, Strategy, Repository, CQRS where appropriate).
  • Define and enforce architecture standards, coding guidelines, and reusable patterns to improve overall engineering quality.
  • Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical architecture and delivery plans.
  • Build and govern CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps implement branching strategies, quality gates, and automated deployments.
  • Design, deploy, and operate solutions on Azure PaaS (e.g., App Service, Functions, Azure SQL, Storage, Service Bus/Event Grid) with cost, performance, and resiliency in mind.
  • Lead troubleshooting and performance tuning across application, database, and Azure resources drive root-cause analysis and preventative fixes.
  • Mentor engineers, conduct architecture/design reviews, and lead code reviews to ensure alignment with standards and patterns.
  • Drive modernization initiatives (e.g., monolith to microservices, legacy to cloud) including roadmap, patterns, and migration strategy.
  • Evaluate technology options and make high-level architectural decisions (trade-offs, NFRs, scalability, observability, and security).
  • Embed security best practices (OWASP, secrets management, identity and access, secure SDLC) into design and delivery.
  • Create and maintain architecture artifacts and technical documentation (HLD/LLD, API specs, runbooks, ADRs).
  • Champion continuous improvement by staying current with .NET/Azure best practices and recommending pragmatic adoption.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather, clarify, and refine requirements, including non-functional requirements (availability, latency, scalability, compliance).
  • Lead and contribute to agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives) to ensure predictable delivery and cross-team alignment.
  • Establish observability standards (logging, metrics, tracing) and ensure monitoring/alerting is implemented using approved tools (e.g., Datadog/Azure Monitor) with SLOs where applicable.

Qualification:

  • 9+ years of experience in software development.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in .NET (C#) including Web API, asynchronous programming, performance optimization, and secure coding.
  • Strong experience with SQL Server data modelling, query optimization, and integration patterns.
  • Strong understanding of architecture styles including microservices, event-driven design, and API-first approaches.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of design patterns and principles (SOLID, GoF patterns) and clean architecture.
  • Hands-on experience designing serverless and integration solutions using Azure Functions and messaging/eventing services.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure PaaS and cloud architecture (App Service, Azure SQL, Storage, Key Vault, networking fundamentals, scaling and resiliency patterns).
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines) and CI/CD practices exposure to release governance and Infrastructure as Code is a plus.
  • Experience implementing observability using monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Datadog, Azure Monitor, Application Insights).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform/Bicep/ARM templates.
  • DevSecOps experience: integrating security scanning, secrets, and policy controls into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Automated testing practices (unit/integration/contract tests) and test strategy for distributed systems.
  • API governance and management using Azure API Management (policies, versioning, security, throttling).
