Key Responsibilities:
Design and Concept Development:
- Develop conceptual designs for architectural projects based on client requirements, project briefs, and site conditions.
- Create detailed design drawings, sketches, models, and presentations to communicate ideas effectively.
- Generate 3D visualizations, renderings, and other design-related documentation to present design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
- Participate in brainstorming and creative sessions, contributing ideas for design solutions that meet aesthetic, functional, and budgetary goals.
Technical Drawings and Documentation:
- Produce detailed architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details, ensuring they meet design specifications, standards, and regulations.
- Develop construction documents and technical specifications for use in project implementation.
- Work with other design team members and engineers to integrate structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems into architectural designs.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, ensuring all design revisions are recorded and updated as required.
Client and Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, goals, and needs, incorporating feedback into the design process.
- Present design ideas to clients and stakeholders, explaining design concepts, material selections, and project timelines.
- Respond to client and stakeholder queries, making design adjustments as needed to ensure satisfaction.
Project Coordination and Management:
- Coordinate with other professionals, including engineers, contractors, and consultants, to ensure the design is feasible, meets technical standards, and stays within budget.
- Assist in the preparation of project timelines and budgets, ensuring that designs are completed on schedule and within financial constraints.
- Participate in site visits and inspections to ensure that design intent is adhered to during construction.
Sustainability and Innovation:
- Incorporate sustainable design principles, including energy efficiency, environmental considerations, and green building materials.
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and building codes, incorporating innovative solutions into designs.
- Contribute to the development of sustainable, eco-friendly design practices within the firm and for client projects.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Ensure that all designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Perform quality checks and reviews of design documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Address any design-related challenges or issues during the construction phase, providing solutions to resolve problems and ensure project success.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in architectural design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design styles and project types.
Skills:
- Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Strong knowledge of design principles, building codes, materials, and construction methods.
- Ability to create compelling visual presentations and communicate design concepts effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to address design challenges.
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices and green building standards (e.g., LEED).
