The Opportunity:
The AA leads the development of the SAP template, ensuring harmonized, standardized processes aligned to the archetype. It represents the SAP CoE in architecture governance, resolves solution conflicts, and aligns SAP with the broader enterprise ecosystem and future capability needs. The AA maintains architecture artefacts, supports requirements and process design, and drives cross-functional integration. Across the SAP CoE, AAs collaborate to harmonize solutions and maximize business value.
How you'll make an impact:
- Support the Preparation of Change Requests in the Pipeline.
- Actively review User Stories in ADO and adjust the affected archetype.
- Channel to the correct GBPOs for initial clarification.
- Support GBPOs writing the business requirements specification (Description and Acceptance Criteria for User Stories in ADO).
- Supports Archetype Lead and GBPOs to prioritize Change Requests.
- Prepare for and participate in the Funnel triage.
- Actively engage the E2E Stream Archetype SPOCs when required, to review and clarify requirement description, acceptance criteria, solution approaches and T-shirt size, before User Stories are ready for TCB.
- Drive quality of Archetype training documentation and Business Process Master List (BPML). Regularly reviews with GBPOs and manages improvements.
- Explaining current functionality (standard and custom), SAP design principles, design options and its impact, A to Z integration across streams.
- Suggesting improvements to solutions and processes.
- Participating in workshops and other activities to understand the BU strategy, pain points, priorities.
- Sharing the results of the evaluation of impact and business improvement realization of current solutions and Change Requests, ideally leveraging available process mining capabilities (e.g.,Celonis).
- The Archetype Architect derives documents and maintains the following artefacts:
- Architectural vision for the archetype in charge (derived from archetype vision and priorities shared by AL)
- L1 and L2 capability map within SAPCoEand aligned outside
- SAP delivered archetype specific capabilities and their cross functional interactions
- The AA works based on AL aligned priorities and archetype architecture principles with BPO's to form the requirements and acceptance criteria for archetype specifics. This happens in the first phase during requirements initiation to ensure that SAP standard usage is maximized, and archetype specific enhancements have a use or business case in SAP or outside SAP.
- In addition, the AA develops an Archetype Architecture based on the AL given business vision on the archetype. He works closely with the EA group around P&A and BST to align the SAP and non-SAP architecture to define a L1/L2/L3 capability mapping with the wider group starting with L1.
- Collaborate with Archetype SPOCs/requestors to explain the standard SAP/template functionalities related to the requirements provided in the new user stories.
- Identify and promote reusable patterns in the existing A to Z process to optimize functionality and efficiency across business units.
- Propose management activities, considering stakeholders impact is assessed and addressed according to the required system changes.
- Govern and monitor if delivered user stories fulfil business requirements.
- Develop capabilities supporting process harmonizations that drive business values and synergies within and across the archetypes.
- Collaborate with other AAs within theCoEto align standardized processes and solution designs.
- Align the design and technical aspects of solutions affecting the Archetype with the Product Owners and SA from the corresponding E2E streams.
- Escalate in case of disagreement on solutioning approach or in case of conflict with the Archetype architecture principles or objectives.
- Represent the SAPCoEand the Archetype in the wider Enterprise Architecture governance group. Know how the HE enterprise architects (BST and P&A) and their processes. Interact with them to achieve the best overall architecture for HE.
- The AA is aware of current standard functions of SAP important to her/his archetype, and the future plans of SAP in those fields. The AA influences SAP on the direction of future enhancements in those fields.
