It's hard out there for a physical therapist—especially when it comes to getting paid what he or she deserves. That's why we need an energetic, motivated self-starter who can advocate for these stellar healthcare providers and make sure they receive every dollar bill they earn. As a WebPT A/R Specialist, you will actively participate in collections procedures, research, appeal claim denials, and generate claim resubmissions for assigned accounts.
What You'll Be Doing As A Part of Our Team- Pursue full contractual reimbursement on behalf of our members. Tasks include:
- Obtain claim status via phone or internet
- Resolve accounts quickly and accurately, obtaining maximum reimbursement, and perform investigative follow up tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Conduct research, including sometimes contacting patients, insurance carriers, and claim adjusters.
- Claim Appeals
- Responding to insurance carrier correspondence or inquires
- Timely and accurate follow-up on denials and appeals
- Consistently meet or exceed productivity and quality standards.
- Work independently or as a member of a team to achieve and maintain SLA metrics set by the AR Department.
- Identify opportunities for member, system, and process improvements and submit to team lead.
- Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations keeping all of the data in our system safe and secure.
- Reliable and punctual in reporting for work and taking designated breaks.
- WebPT Accounts Receivable Specialist I reports to the Accounts Receivable Lead.
What You Should Have To Qualify
- At least two years of experience in full-cycle medical billing or schooling
- At least three years of customer service experience
- Healthcare compliance and terminology knowledge
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines—especially those associated with Medicare and Medicaid—as well as ICD-10 and CPT codes.
Ideally, You Would Also Have These
- Critical and analytical thinking skills to help resolve billing issues and collect payments.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Experience in the rehab therapy community and the day-to-day operations of a large PT, OT, or SLP clinic is preferred but not required.
- Be passionate about quality customer service.
- Detail oriented, good organizational skills, and ability to be a team player
- Proficiency in Google Workspace
