Overview

We are seeking an Offshore Structural Apprentice Engineer to join our Offshore Engineering Team based in the Bangalore Global Technical Centre (GTCI). This role is suited to an early career engineer with a strong interest in offshore structures, particularly offshore wind turbine generator (WTG) support structures. The Individual shall have Strong Analytical and Technical knowledge with shall do attitude.

The role offers hands on exposure to structural analysis, design, international codes, and industry standard software, while working under the guidance of experienced engineers within a multidisciplinary environment.

Your role

  • Basic understanding of structural analysis and design concepts.
  • Exposure to finite element or structural analysis tools is desirable:
    • SESAM Genie, SACS, Mathcad, MS Excel, STAAD Pro, Ansys
  • Awareness of offshore loads, basic dynamic analysis, and load combinations.
  • Interest in programming/scripting (Python, VBA) for engineering automation is an advantage.
  • Fundamental knowledge of steel design concepts, including fatigue, buckling, and dynamic loading.
  • Support the Structural engineering team in technical aspects of offshore engineering projects, with a strong focus on fundamental principles applied to both fixed and floating offshore structures.
  • Assist in structural analysis, design calculations, and preparation of technical reports for offshore wind projects.
  • Gain exposure to industry tools such as SESAM Genie, SACS, STAAD Pro, ANSYS, and related automation workflows.
  • Knowledge and exposure in international codes such as DNV, API, ISO, AISC, NORSOK etc.,
  • Develop efficient and innovative design in manual calculation and strong technical writing.
  • Assist the team with basic Python scripting or automation tasks for engineering applications.
  • Learn and support knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Engage with stakeholders through clear and confident communication.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, Structural engineering, or Offshore Structural Engineering -
  • Master's Degree in Steel Structures, Offshore Structures, CAD Structures or a related discipline.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and ability to work under guidance.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Collaborative approach and ability to work in a multicultural team environment.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites or overseas locations if required.
