How will you make an impact in this role
The Business Solutions Intern will play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of digital business capabilities at American Express. This cross-functional role combines product management, business analysis, and quality assurance to ensure innovative, reliable, and customer-centric digital solutions. The intern will gain hands-on experience across the entire solution lifecycle, from research and requirement definition to testing, performance validation, and release, while collaborating with teams across engineering, analytics, design, and compliance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in defining, refining, and managing product goals, roadmaps, and feature requirements aligned with business objectives.
Conduct customer research, market and competitor analysis, and data-driven insights to support product and testing strategies.
Prepare and maintain Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria for new features.
Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Collaborate with engineering, QA, analytics, and compliance teams to ensure smooth delivery of business solutions.
Create, review, and execute test cases and scripts participate in functional and regression testing.
Log, track, and manage defects using tools like JIRA and TestRail, ensuring timely resolution and retesting.
Support basic automation testing, environment readiness, and test data management.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), feature adoption, and product quality metrics.
Prepare presentations, dashboards, and progress reports for internal stakeholders.
Contribute to continuous improvement of product delivery and testing processes, ensuring adherence to data privacy, information security, and compliance standards at American Express.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering (B. Tech / B.E.), BCA, B.Sc. Computer Science / Information technology.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Familiarity with agile methodologies, digital platforms, and software testing fundamentals (SDLC/STLC).
Knowledge of tools such as JIRA, Confluence, TestRail, SQL, Python, or Postman preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data and reporting tasks.
