Application Support Specialist
The primary responsibility of the Application support specialist is to provide all
necessary support for several applications including (in-house developed) and interfaces
with other systems and data sources. The candidate must have the ability to work as part
of a team, within IT as well as in collaboration with end-users by taking over business
analyst activities. They must be able to understand requirements, design and document
appropriate solutions and contribute to implementing them if required to satisfy the
users needs.
The successful applicant will work with international development and IT Operation and
Support teams for Financial Solutions. Experience working with Agile and DevOps
methodologies would be preferable.
Job Specification
Maintenance and support of existing VB.NET applications.
Maintenance and support of new and existing Python solutions
Maintenance and support of new and existing scheduling and ETL solutions
Support existing reports Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to both
technical stakeholders and business end users.
Working with the product owner to deliver solutions with a smooth transition
through to the production environment.
Adhere to change management and release management procedures.
Working closely with other team members and end users.
Skills Required
3-5 years application support experience in large corporate.
Solid knowledge and experience in VB.NET, Python and JSON.
Experience in PL/SQL .
Comfortable with Git source control.
Knowledge and experience of software engineering life cycle.
Experience working with automation/scheduling tools, such as VisualCron or
Control-M
Experience working with ETL tools, such as Alphafuse or X-Gen
Experience in the area of data warehouse and reporting solutions, such as
OpenText
Great attention to details and the passion to drive projects forward.
Excellent time management and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication skills in both English written and verbal.
Good understanding of financial solutions and process.
Background in the financial industry preferable.
