Job Description

Project Role : Application Support Engineer

Project Role Description : Act as software detectives, provide a dynamic service identifying and solving issues within multiple components of critical business systems.

Must have skills : MySQL Database Administration

Good to have skills : NA

Minimum 2 Year(s) Of Experience Is Required

Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education

Skill : MySQL Database Administration

Key Responsibilities :

A:Need to provide ongoing technical support and maintenance of database systems within a defined operating model and processes

B :Should work on all support activities including monitoring of databases and incident and monitoring tickets

C:Need to perform basic database functions like DB restarts, backups, user management, restore, patching, troubleshooting, basic performing management.

D: Provide input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance

Technical Experience:

  • MySQL Database Management:

Proficient in MySQL database management and recent versions, including storage engines like InnoDB and MyISAM.

  • Performance, Security, and Availability:

Skilled in replication configuration, performance optimization, resource planning, and ensuring security and availability.

  • Database Operations:

Experienced in common procedures such as upgrades, backups, recovery, migrations, and provisioning MySQL instances (clustered and non-clustered).

  • SQL Proficiency and Features:

Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements, understanding MySQL features like event scheduler, and documenting specifications.

  • Collaboration and Support:

Knowledgeable about MySQL limitations and workarounds, proficient with versioning tools (Git/Mercurial/SVN), and willing to work in a 24x7 support environment.

A:Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

B:Work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

C:Should be able to perform initial level of trouble shootings.
