Summary:

As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by proactively identifying and resolving issues across various components of essential business systems. This role requires a dynamic approach to troubleshooting, ensuring the smooth operation of critical applications and supporting business continuity. The position demands attentiveness to system performance and collaboration with different teams to maintain optimal functionality and address challenges promptly and effectively.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops in both on-prem and Citrix Cloud environments.
  • Administer and configure Citrix Cloud Connectors, resource locations, entitlements, and policies.
  • Create, update, decommission VDI desktops manage the virtual image pool (gold/master images).
  • Manage and maintain Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) including image streaming and version control.
  • Maintain and support Citrix Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, Citrix Studio, Director, and Workspace.
  • Configure and manage GPOs, Citrix policies, and Citrix Profile Management for user environments.
  • Deploy and manage printer configurations, user profile mappings, and agent updates.
  • Support user profiles: roaming, mandatory, and local profiles.
  • Package and deploy applications using tools like App-V, MSIX, or custom scripts.
  • Test and publish applications to virtual desktops and ensure compatibility across environments.
  • Perform load and performance testing for all VDI components.
  • Monitor VDI systems using Citrix Director, Citrix Studio, and third-party tools.
  • Troubleshoot Citrix sessions, profile load delays, application crashes, and printing issues.
  • Manage license tracking, usage monitoring, and capacity planning for Citrix and third-party tools.
  • Monitor and manage SSL/TLS certificates used across Citrix infrastructure (e.g., NetScaler, StoreFront).
  • Track and renew expiring certificates to maintain secure access and uptime.
  • Maintain a license inventory for Citrix components, applications, and VDI-related tools.
  • Ensure license compliance and coordinate with vendors for renewals or expansions.
  • Implement and manage security policies across VDI, including multi-factor authentication, endpoint hardening, and access controls.
  • Provide access to production and non-production Citrix environments for troubleshooting and emergency support.
  • Support change and release management processes, ensuring minimal disruption.

Professional & Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience in Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (CVAD) on-prem and cloud.
  • Hands-on experience with Citrix Cloud, including cloud-hosted desktops and apps.
  • Proficiency in managing Citrix PVS, image lifecycle, and streaming technologies.
  • Expertise in application packaging and deployment in VDI environments.
  • Experience with Citrix NetScaler (ADC) including authentication, SSL offloading, and gateway configurations.
  • In-depth understanding of license tracking and certificate lifecycle management in Citrix and related ecosystems.
  • PowerShell scripting for automation and bulk operations.
  • Working knowledge of public cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, and profile redirection.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools like ControlUp, eG Innovations, or native Citrix tools.
  • Citrix Certifications: CCA-V / CCP-V / CCE-V – Required
  • Cloud Fundamentals Certification (Azure/AWS/GCP) – Required
  • ITIL Foundation – Preferred
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with little direct supervision.
  • Good interpersonal communication and customer service skills are needed in order to work successfully with customers in high stress and or ambiguous situations.
  • Willingness to work off-hours or participate in on-call support when required.

Additional Information:

  • The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop Administration.
  • This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
