Application Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

- Provide product or knowledge-based services and technical support to customers and sales team members

- Conduct point of application studies for top MRO customers

- Perform failure diagnosis in case of failure of critical application bearings

- Address and resolve all technical customer complaints

- Review customer specifications and transfer customer requirements, industry trends, and application knowledge into innovative, high value platform integrated products and solutions.

- Monitor competitor activities in respect of products and technical development and define activity plan accordingly

- Monitor customer approval tests conducted on prototypes/initial samples at customer's Premises/installations

- Obtain customer's product approvals in line with application proposals, product drawings, sample submitted and completed sample tests

- Obtain confirmation and delivery of customers first supply order

- Manage the portfolio of customer/technology related product development program for optimal profit

- Represent the voice of customer during Design FMEA & Process FMEA

- Maintain close relationship with customer's R&D function.

- Conduct training programs in basic bearing technology and related application areas

- Drive and influence customer technical choices based on value analysis/value engineering and total cost of ownership over the life of the application

Key skills required for this position

3. Customer focused, self-reliant, with strong personal drive and commitment

4. Knowledge of bearing products and their application

5. Good know-how of systems, sub-systems and their interface with bearing

6. Use of quality control tools

7. Knowledge of materials, heat treatments and other technical requirements of products.

8. Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and automotive product portfolio.

Qualification:

• 5-8 years of experience either from bearing industry or having Mechanical maintenance experience in Stee/Cement/power with very good understanding of Rotating Equipment, Bearings, Lubrication, and Troubleshooting.
