Application Engineer Head - Switchgear & Automation

Sone India is seeking an experienced and highly technical Application Engineer Head for our Switchgear & Automation division. Based in Hyderabad, Telangana, this leadership role is critical for developing, programming, and testing automation control systems using PLC, HMI, and SCADA platforms. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, system upgrades, and nurturing key customer relationships, ensuring top-tier technical support and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, program, and test automation control systems, primarily using PLC, HMI, SCADA platforms.
• Commission control systems on-site, including start-up support, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Perform system upgrades, migrations, and retrofits on existing industrial control systems.
• Handle onsite customer objections and Automation product complaints.
• Ensure projects comply with all relevant health and safety standards and client-specific site regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.
• Nurturing Customer relationships.

Qualifications:

• B.Tech/Diploma/ITI graduate.

Skills & Requirements:

• 7+ years experience in Programming and Commissioning.
• Good technical knowledge and Hands-On experience on VFD, SCADA, PLC, HMI Programming and Commissioning.
• Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/RTU, Profibus, Profinet).
• Ability to work on site and remotely for customer support.
• Willingness to travel extensively for site commissioning, client meetings, and support in India and Abroad.
• Familiarity with cloud-connected SCADA and remote monitoring technologies.
