Role Summary -
The Applications Assistant – EMS, PMS & VA provides operational support for the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of endpoint security and vulnerability management solutions across substations and control centres. The role assists in ensuring that all endpoints are secure, compliant, and continuously monitored against cyber threats and vulnerabilities within the OT environment.
Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the assistant supports endpoint protection operations, patch management activities, and vulnerability assessments, contributing to the overall cybersecurity posture of the infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities -
Endpoint Security Operations (EMS) -
• Assist in deployment and configuration of endpoint security tools including:
• Host Intrusion Prevention Systems (HIPS)
• Antivirus (AV)
• Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR)
• Monitor endpoint security dashboards for alerts, threats, and anomalies.
• Support enforcement of endpoint security policies across systems.
Patch Management Support (PMS) -
• Assist in patch deployment and update scheduling for servers and endpoints.
• Monitor patch compliance status and identify missing updates.
• Support testing and validation of patches prior to deployment in production environments.
• Maintain records of patching activities and compliance reports.
Vulnerability Assessment Support (VA) -
• Assist in execution of vulnerability scans across endpoints and network systems.
• Analyze scan results and support identification of vulnerabilities.
• Track remediation activities and ensure closure of identified risks.
• Maintain vulnerability assessment reports and documentation.
Monitoring & Incident Support -
• Monitor endpoint alerts and escalate security incidents to senior engineers or SOC teams.
• Assist in initial analysis and troubleshooting of endpoint-related issues.
• Maintain logs and records of incidents and resolutions.
System Maintenance & Documentation -
• Support system updates, agent installations, and configuration changes.
• Maintain operational documentation related to endpoint security and patch management.
• Assist in preparation of compliance and audit reports
Experience -
• 2–4 years experience in endpoint security, IT support, or cybersecurity operations.
• Exposure to endpoint protection, patch management, or vulnerability assessment tools preferred.
Skills -
• Basic understanding of endpoint security technologies (HIPS, AV, EDR)
• Patch management and system update processes
• Vulnerability scanning and reporting tools
• Monitoring and alert handling
• Troubleshooting and system support
Qualification -
Diploma or Graduate in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
Certifications (Preferred) -
• CompTIA Security+
• Endpoint Security / EDR tool training
• Vulnerability Assessment tool certification (preferred)
