Windchill Developer
PTC Windchill PLM | 5–10 Years Experience | CAD/PLM Engineering Services
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy Windchill customizations including Form Processors, Custom Actions, Listeners, Validators, Filters, Table Builders, and Data Utilities.
- Configure and manage Workflows, Lifecycles, Access Control Lists (ACLs), Domain Policies, and Routing Rules.
- Implement and maintain Type & Attribute Management (TDT), OIRs, and Team Templates.
- Develop and support Change Management processes (ECR/ECO/CN/Change Activity).
- Build and maintain integrations between Windchill and ERP systems (e.g., SAP), Salesforce, and other enterprise applications using REST APIs, Info*Engine tasks, and SOAP services.
- Perform Windchill upgrades (10.x / 11.x / 12.x / 13.x / Windchill+) including code refactoring, backward compatibility validation, and de-customization activities.
- Prepare and deploy CCD build packages following PTC best practices.
- Develop Query Builder and WRB reports as per business requirements.
- Perform data migration activities using LoadFromFile and bulk migration tools.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues with focus on performance tuning.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for development sprints.
- Collaborate with functional consultants, architects, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless solution delivery.
- Mentor and guide junior developers on Windchill customization and deployment standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 5–10 years of hands-on experience in PTC Windchill PDMLink (10.x / 11.x / 12.x or higher).
- Core PLM Skills: Windchill Customization (API, OOTB, UI, Server-Side), Configuration, Integration, and Administration.
- Programming: Strong proficiency in Java (Core Java, J2EE), SQL, REST APIs, JSON, and XML.
- Windchill Components: Form Processors, Custom Actions, Listeners, Validators, Filters, Table Builders, Data Utilities, Business Rules, and Preferences.
- Workflow & Lifecycle: Expertise in Workflow development, Lifecycle configuration, and Change Management processes.
- Integration: Experience with ERP integrations (SAP preferred), Info*Engine tasks, REST/SOAP services, and PDM Link.
- Build & Deployment: Proficiency with Apache, Tomcat, ANT/Maven, and CCD build packaging.
- Databases: Working knowledge of Oracle or SQL Server.
- Tools: Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar project management and version control tools.
- Methodologies: Agile/Scrum development practices.
Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with PTC Windchill+ (Cloud environment).
- Exposure to Windchill standardization and de-customization projects.
- Experience with CAD integrations (Creo, NX, SolidWorks).
- Knowledge of Microservices architecture.
- PTC Windchill Customization Certification or related PTC certifications.
- Experience with Windchill Publishing and automated background jobs.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
- Master's degree (preferred but not mandatory).
