dedicated Application Architect who will shape the future of our user experience across
both web and mobile products.
About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Application Architect to define, evolve, and enforce
architecture standards across KDI's user-facing applications including both web
platforms and mobile applications. The role combines strategic architecture
leadership with hands-on technical expertise, ensuring our solutions are scalable,
secure, performant, and consistent across diverse product lines.
Reporting to: Chief Architect, Kongsberg Digital
Responsibilities
Architectural Leadership
- Define, standardize, and evolve application architecture patterns across web
and mobile products.
- Drive adoption of modular design systems, reusable component libraries, and
consistent UX.
- Establish coding standards, guidelines, and best practices for modern web and
mobile applications.
Hands-On Development
- Contribute directly to critical features and unblock engineering teams when
needed.
- Lead performance optimization, accessibility compliance, and security
hardening of applications.
- Conduct architecture and code reviews to ensure principles are consistently
applied.
Collaboration & Mentorship
- Partner with platform and infrastructure architects, UX/UI designers, and
product managers to align solutions with platform strategy.
- Mentor frontend and mobile developers, raising the overall technical maturity.
- Support cross-product initiatives requiring shared application and design system
capabilities.
Skills & Qualifications
- Expert-level knowledge of modern web frameworks (Angular, Javascript /
Typescript and similar ones).
- Experience with MEAN stack environments (Node.js, Express, MongoDB,
Angular) is desirable.
- Strong experience architecting and delivering mobile applications, with Flutter
as the preferred framework (other frameworks will also be considered).
- Proven expertise in design systems and reusable component library
governance.
- Familiarity with 3D visualization libraries or frameworks (e.g., WebGL, Three.js,
Babylon.js) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of performance optimization, accessibility, and application
security.
- Hands-on experience with state management, CI/CD, automated testing
frameworks, and build tools.
- Familiarity with backend integration and API design.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Experience
- 812+ years in application development, with at least 35 years in an
architecture or technical leadership role.
- Experience across both web and mobile app ecosystems.
- Experience collaborating across multiple product lines and aligning to
enterprise-level architecture.
