Senior APM & Observability Consultant

Role Overview
FutureTEC is seeking an experienced Senior APM & Observability Consultant to lead the architecture, deployment, and optimization of enterprise-grade Application Performance Management (APM) and observability solutions across strategic enterprise and government clients.
This is a senior, hands-on consulting role combining deep technical expertise with client advisory capability. The successful candidate will own solution architecture, drive performance optimization initiatives, and act as a trusted technical advisor to client stakeholders.
This role focuses on solution design and implementation excellence not operational monitoring or support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Architecture & Deployment
- Lead end-to-end architecture, design, and deployment of enterprise APM and observability platforms (e.g., Dynatrace, Datadog, IBM Instana).
- Design scalable monitoring and observability strategies across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
- Ensure platform implementations follow best practices and enterprise architecture standards.
2. Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting
- Conduct deep-dive troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Drive performance tuning initiatives to improve application reliability and user experience.
- Optimize monitoring coverage across complex application and infrastructure landscapes.
3. Advisory & Client Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor for observability strategy and operational maturity.
- Translate technical insights into business-oriented recommendations.
- Provide executive-ready reporting and structured technical documentation.
4. Pre-Sales & Technical Enablement
- Support technical workshops, solution design sessions, and client demonstrations.
- Contribute to proposals and RFP responses.
- Assist in defining scalable solution architectures aligned with client requirements.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in APM, observability, or enterprise monitoring environments.
- 3+ years of strong hands-on experience with at least one major APM/observability platform:
- Dynatrace
- Datadog
- IBM Instana
- Proven expertise in enterprise monitoring architecture and implementation.
- Strong background in performance troubleshooting and optimization.
- Experience working with enterprise or government clients.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience with Kubernetes, microservices, and containerized environments.
- Scripting and automation knowledge (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Relevant certifications (Dynatrace, Datadog, IBM Instana, Cloud, ITIL).
