JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a hands-on API / Platform Architect to lead the design and implementation of a next-generation API Gateway and microservices architecture for a leading insurance organization in KSA.

This role is central to a large-scale transformation from monolithic systems to a microservices-based platform, with a strong focus on API governance, scalability, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement API-first architecture and API Gateway strategy (e.g., InsureMO, MuleSoft, Apigee, etc.)
• Lead end-to-end architecture for microservices-based platforms
• Define and enforce API governance, versioning, security, and lifecycle management
• Architect solutions for:
• Logging, observability, monitoring, and failure handling
• Scalability, resilience, and performance
• Drive monolith → microservices transformation, including:
• Service decomposition
• Data strategy
• Integration patterns
• Act as a technical leader, clearly articulating architectural decisions and guiding engineering teams

What We're Looking For

Core (Must-Have)

• 10–18+ years in solution / platform architecture
• Strong hands-on experience in:
• API design & API Gateway architecture
• Microservices and distributed systems
• Cloud-native architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Proven experience designing:
• observability (logging, tracing, monitoring)
• resilient and scalable systems
• Ability to:
• clearly explain architecture decisions
• defend trade-offs and design choices
• take ownership of architectural direction

Good to Have

• Experience in insurance or BFSI domain
• Exposure to InsureMO or similar API platforms
• Experience in KSA / GCC markets
