Roles and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse, design, and develop new features for web applications.
- Write clean, scalable, testable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
- Participate actively in code reviews to maintain the highest quality of software development.
- Ensure that applications are optimised for maximum speed and scalability.
- Work closely with UI/UX designers to ensure the technical feasibility of designs.
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs in the web applications.
- Maintain and update the existing codebase to improve features and performance.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends in web development and apply them proactively where appropriate.
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from initial concept and requirement gathering through to deployment and support.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in developing web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Strong understanding of TypeScript, with the ability to write idiomatic code effectively.
- Experience in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
- Good knowledge of RESTful services and integration with web applications.
- Understanding of software development fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and version control systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and critically.
- Strong communication skills, with the capability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement new functionalities and enhance existing features guided by business stakeholders.
- Ensure a high degree of testability for code through unit tests and end-to-end integration tests.
- Identify weaknesses in systems architecture and provide solutions to ensure stability and performance.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance as required.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that newly developed features meet the design specifications and are free of bugs.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and weekly planning sessions to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.
