Team Description

It begins with a Card Member using an American Express Card at one of our millions of Merchants around the world the rest is up to us. The Network Acquirer Solutions team (NAS) is the heart of the American Express Enterprise, powering billions of transactions through the global payments processing network that we develop and manage.

NAS is unique within the Enterprise. We work across almost every American Express business unit as well as external partners, providers, and key industry stakeholders. We are known to be intellectually curious problem solvers as we tackle the most imperative initiatives facing the payments industry today.

The Network & Acquirer Capability Delivery (NACD) team within NAS works to deliver full-scale Network solutions including new digital products such as Debit, Push to Card, Multi-Rail, and Local Network solutions to meet the evolving demands of global payment networks and adapt to local market needs while ensuring continued global interoperability. This enables the Enterprise to attract new customers, operate in new markets, react to changing regulatory demands, and process new/emerging types of payments. The Data Enablement & Insights Solution is responsible for overseeing data products and platforms specific to the Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) business. Our team is dedicated to helping American Express leverage enterprise-wide capabilities and assets to strengthen our integrated network and become an essential part of our customers digital lives.

Role Description

We are the Product Data Enablement & Quality (PDEQ) team within Data Enablement & Insights Solutions, working closely with Merchant Data Products & Platforms. This role is critical to delivering on product migration timelines across Merchant Products, while maintaining strong validation rigor during the transition to LUMI.

The role focuses on enabling end-to-end data testing, accuracy validation, and quality assurance across the Merchant data and product ecosystem, ensuring reliable data foundations that power analytical and reporting capabilities aligned with enterprise strategy.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate analyst eager to learn, contribute, and grow within the evolving data product space.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Work with Product Owners to develop a product-level strategy and roadmap, identify, specify and document complex user stories (business requirements)

  • Review user stories and design specs with technology and business partners (as needed) to ensure requirements are captured accurately and optimally and design proposed by the technology is in line with the business requirements

  • Create / document / execute User Acceptance Test cases for new data and product capabilities

  • Develop user best practices guidelines and provide consulting and training to business users

  • Manage platform and product issues and drive towards a speedy issue resolution

  • Lead new product implementations, prepare project plans and other supporting information and provide project status to onsite product owner

  • Manage customer expectations including scope, schedule, changes, and problem resolution

  • Drive on-time, high quality project deliverables

  • Mentor new team member towards product management

  • Work as a Business systems analyst/product manager supporting Product development, platform and project management

  • Develop and adapt processes to take maximum advantage of technological advancements, reduce manual effort through automation, and drive accuracy and efficiency

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Qualification: Bachelor's degree or above in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, data analytics, or engineering

Product management experience: 3+ Years experience as a Business Systems Analyst /Business Analyst with a Product Mindset

  • Problem solving:Demonstrable analytical aptitude and ability to analyze data to come up with meaningful insights and make informed business decisions. Hands on experience on Hive, Python, SQL, Big Query is required
  • Effective communicator and influencer:Excellent verbal and written communication with an ability to convert business requirements to tech features
