The purpose of the R2R GPO Manager is to define, measure, and optimize the end-to-end, GPO business process for BMS within the Hyderabad CoE with a goal of seeking innovative solutions, and opportunities to improve process performance and drive business value, while also understanding, documenting and communicating regional/local process requirements for review and approval.

The R2R GPO Manager for BMS will be a critical member of the GPO team, and demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Exceptional expertise in process excellence, capability improvement, automation, process digitization, and application of Lean Six Sigma principles
  • Deep understanding of the business landscape, market trends, and industry dynamics
  • Outstanding ability to forge strong partnerships across the organization to provide insights and guidance to cross-functional teams
  • Successful candidates will possess excellent leadership skills, inspiring and motivating team members to deliver exceptional results.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience is required, preferably in a process excellence or capability improvement capacity. The position will be based in the BMS's Hyderabad Location (expected 80% in-person) with minimal travel expected.

Key Responsibilities and Major Duties:

  • Process standardization and improvement
  • Applies lean Six Sigma principles in development of process improvement plans
  • Steers R2R Ops team to implement process changes
  • Ensure operating procedures are established and appropriately documented to support execution, and are maintained to align with their processes as they change
  • Proactively participates in process operations and governance process
  • Supports leadership to ensure the implementation of major process and technology improvement initiatives in Hyderabad Controllership CoE, including any required local accommodations
  • Solicits feedback from internal customers to determine best response to continually improve process performance
  • Supports respective process councils, monthly business reviews or similar groups within Hyderabad focused on process improvement
  • Supports effective delivery of systems enhancements and process improvement initiatives
  • Ensures services are provided at competitive costs, and work closely with GPO team to fully understand and improve business results
  • Supports year-on-year cost reductions and other improvements in effectiveness, efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Promotes the adoption of best-in-class practices compliant with internal and external policies and procedures across functions and businesses

Relationship management and teaming

  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with R2R GPO Senior Manager, Controllership Hyderabad CoE Lead,
  • Senior Director, R2R GPO (NJ-based), and Hyderabad R2R Ops Lead
  • Holds self and others to timelines, quality, and accuracy
  • Creates a culture of financial discipline, operational excellence, collaboration, and high performance
  • Create a mindset of innovation to drive business value

Risk management

  • Articulates material risks and opportunities and takes an active role in designing and executing response or contingency plans

List of minimum requirements

Degree/Certification/Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. Master's degree/CPA preferred.
  • Green or black belt in Lean Six Sigma or equivalent

Experience Responsibility and minimum number of years

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience, preferably in a process excellence or capability improvement capacity
  • Experience with process improvement (including process automation) and improvement frameworks (e.g., Agile, Lean)
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing process excellence and continuous improvement plans
  • Direct operational experience in pharmaceutical industry
