Job Description

Job Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to use analytical acumen to solve business problems in retail Pricing domain. This includes.

  • following analytical best practices
  • data exploration
  • performing mathematical/statistical analysis
  • reporting accurate results
  • identifying meaningful insights that directly support decision making.

This role provides support to Pricing business teams by collaborating with other members within a specific product team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support Pricing domain by analyzing data and providing insights and recommendations to support product goals.
  • Provide data capture capabilities to support pricing analytics initiatives.
  • At times, this role may work directly with the business function, but the majority of time is spent working with internal team members to identify and understand business needs and provide solutions.
  • To be successful, the individual in this role must have technical expertise in programs such as SQL or Python to query data, summarize results and visualize findings to provide actionable insights to business partners.

Years Of Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in related field

Education Qualification & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Data or Information Sciences, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field) or
  • Master's degree in business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Data or Information Sciences, or related field.

Skill Set Required

Primary Skills (must have)

  • Must have technical expertise in programs such as SQL or Python and know how to query data.
  • Experience using basic analytical tools such as Python, SQL, Alteryx, Knime, Aster
  • Experience in using MS Excel
  • Ability to conduct exploratory analysis - merge data sets from different systems, create KPIs and summarize results.
  • Experience using visualization tools such as MicroStrategy VI, Power BI, Tableau

Secondary Skills (desired)

  • Master's degree in business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics or related area
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools (e.g., Adobe) and Enterprise level databases (Hadoop, GCP, Azure, Oracle, Teradata, DB2)
  • Experience working with big, unstructured data in a retail environment.
  • Programming experience using tools such as R, SAS
  • Experience in home improvement retail
