Role Overview:
The Amazon Procurement Executive will be responsible for sourcing, onboarding, and managing suppliers for cosmetics and personal care products. The role focuses on procurement planning, vendor negotiations, quality compliance, and inventory availability to support sales across Amazon and D2C platforms.
Key Responsibilities
1. Vendor Sourcing & Development
- Identify and source manufacturers and suppliers for cosmetics and personal care products.
- Evaluate vendors based on pricing, MOQs, lead times, production capacity, and certifications (FDA, GMP, ISO, etc.).
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with reliable suppliers across India.
- Onboard new vendors and maintain an updated supplier database.
2. Procurement & Negotiation
- Manage end-to-end procurement for assigned SKUs.
- Negotiate pricing, credit terms, payment cycles, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure timely order confirmations and follow-ups with vendors.
- Monitor product availability to support continuous inventory replenishment.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure products meet internal quality standards and Amazon marketplace guidelines.
- Verify compliance documents such as ingredient lists, MSDS, labeling norms, and FSSAI (where applicable).
- Coordinate with vendors to address quality or compliance gaps.
4. Inventory & Order Management
- Track inventory levels, reorder points, and fast/slow-moving SKUs.
- Align procurement activities with sales forecasts and campaign requirements.
- Ensure timely stock availability for Amazon and D2C channels.
5. Cost Optimization & Reporting
- Maintain accurate purchase records and vendor performance reports.
- Support procurement forecasting based on sales trends and upcoming promotions.
- Identify cost optimization opportunities without compromising quality.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Operations, Finance, and Amazon marketplace teams.
- Ensure smooth information flow related to procurement, inventory, and payments.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of cosmetics and personal care product sourcing.
- Understanding of e-commerce and marketplace procurement requirements.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and basic procurement reporting.
Qualifications:
- Any Graduate
- 1-3 years of experience in procurement or sourcing (cosmetics/personal care preferred)
- Experience in e-commerce or D2C business models is a plus
- Must own a two-wheeler with a valid driving license
