Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Manager, Accounts Receivable
Reports to: Assistant Controller/Controller
In this role, you will be responsible for Responsible for maintaining the accounts receivable ledgers and records including processing recurring and manual billings, applying cash receipts and reconciling tenant accounts.
Responsibilities
.Prepare and post recurring rent, CAM, utility, tax, and miscellaneous billings as per lease terms, inclusive of obtaining approvals
.Process ad hoc manual billings (e.g., tenant billbacks, percentage rent)
.Process annual operating and tax reconciliation charges/credits
.Process cash applications for checks, ACH, wires, and lockbox payments with high accuracy.
.Match tenant remittances to open invoices and apply cash in property management systems like Yardi and JD Edwards.
.Generate and send invoices to tenants when applicable
.Provide supporting documentation for discrepancies between billed amounts and payments received to facilitate follow-up with tenants by Management Services
.Generate and provide aging reports to Management Services as required
.Collaborate closely with onshore stakeholders including Property Managers, Client AR Leads, and Treasury teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant execution of tenant billing and cash application activities across assigned property portfolios.
.Review recurring and non-recurring tenant invoices in accordance with lease terms, billing schedules, escalation clauses, and client-defined cut-off calendars.
.Supervise cash application activities across multiple bank accounts, lockboxes, and payment modes (checks, ACH, wires), ensuring accurate matching of remittances to tenant invoices and proper posting within property management systems.
.Monitor unapplied, unidentified, and misapplied cash balances support root-cause analysis and driving resolution through structured coordination with onshore teams and clients.
.Own AR aging reviews and support client teams with detailed AR analysis to enable collection prioritization and dispute resolution.
.Ensure all billing and cash application activities comply with client policies, internal audit requirements, and documented SOPs.
.Act as the primary escalation point for AR-related operational issues, system challenges, and client concerns, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
.Support internal and external audits by providing billing, cash application, and reconciliation documentation, explanations, and walk-throughs as required.
.Identify opportunities for process standardization, efficiency improvement, and automation within billing and cash application workflows, and support implementation initiatives.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
.Bachelor's degree in commerce or accounting from an accredited university.
.Relevant years of accounting experience Commercial/Residential Real estate or property management experience preferred.
.Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, JD Edwards, Entrata etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
.Strong understanding of AR billings and cash applications
.Excellent organizational skills, Attention to detail & Excellent quantitative skills
.Strong communication skills
.Ability to interact with clients and stakeholders effectively.
.People management exposure (training, mentoring, handling small teams).
.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
