KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Day-to-Day Operations

Follow the daily welding chart specifications for metal sheets laid out by the supervisor in order to ensure the welding work complies with the specifications provided and the activities are completed as per timelines, quality, health and safety standards of the division.

Recognize, set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment in order to ensure safety and well-being of the workers working in that environment.

Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications or types and thicknesses of metals in order to ensure that there is minimum wastage of materials and its effective utilization.

Connect and turn regulator valves in order to activate and adjust gas flow and pressure so that desired flames are obtained for conducting welding/ fitting activities.

Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.

Follow all relevant section's or department's policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.

Reporting

Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate statements or reports to meet section or department's requirements, policies and quality standards.

Health & Safety

Maintain an awareness of all health and safety rules applying to the assigned tasks and tools to ensure that safe working practices are observed.

Use of Tools & Equipment

Maintain competence in the use of all tools or equipment required for the assigned works.
