Job Description

Own and review private equity fund accounting activities end-to-end, maintain client books and complex models (carry files / waterfall models), perform trial balance and general ledger reviews, and supervise a team while partnering closely with the Vice President.

What you will be responsible for

  • Controls and governance: Adhere to AIS internal control procedures maintain appropriate records of daily/monthly activity support compliance/fiduciary reviews and audits as needed.
  • Delivery management: Ensure monthly and quarterly client deliverables are met monitor productivity and quality to achieve team targets and client SLAs.
  • Accounting and financial reporting oversight: Review GLs, workpapers, financial statements and footnote disclosures perform analytical reviews of investment and fund performance data review/prepare fee calculations (management, annual, incentive).
  • Investor activity and cash processes: Review/prepare capital calls, distributions, and bank reconciliations.
  • Client service: Prepare client correspondence and handle client calls, complaints, questions, and queries.
  • People leadership: Supervise and manage a team (noted as 15-20 members) set goals, provide quarterly feedback, mentor team members, conduct performance appraisals, and support hiring decisions.
  • Continuous improvement: Bring forward process improvement ideas design process maps/SOPs/process documentation collaborate with robotics and automation teams on automation initiatives.
  • External coordination: Coordinate annual audit and tax return preparation with external accounting firms review limited partnership agreements/offering memorandums and ensure operational/accounting compliance.
  • Other: Support presentations to existing/prospective clients and complete special projects as requested.

Who we are looking for

  • 10-15+ years of relevant experience in Private Equity accounting
  • End-to-end Private Equity knowledge with strong understanding of operational functions in PE fund accounting.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills ability to work with senior stakeholders and clients.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and strong analytical/problem-solving capability driven to meet deadlines.
  • Proven supervisory/team leadership experience (3-4+ years managing/leading staff noted) and ability to mentor and develop talent.

Skills & Tools required

  • Core (must-have): Private Equity fund accounting knowledge Investran accounting strong Microsoft Office capability (especially Excel) team handling/leadership.
  • Analytical/automation tools (noted): Python and Power BI proficiency (in addition to Excel/Word) is listed.
  • Accounting standards: Knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP.
  • Systems (advantage): Working knowledge of Investran and/or Oracle.
  • Commercial/operational acumen: Understanding of cost/budgets (officer level) and accountability for end-to-end outcomes across functions, business units, and locations.

Qualifications

  • Graduate or Master's degree in Accounting/Finance, or a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA, CWA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent CA/CWA inter noted).
  • Experience preparing general ledger and financial statements within financial services (Private Equity/Asset Management/Fund Administration).
  • Private equity/real estate fund exposure, including complex fund structures, waterfall computation, and preferred return concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Client and business relationship management capability.
