Background on the Team

IM has deployed a 3rd party system for booking Equity and Fixed Income trades across regions. This system is a combination of trading and accounting system which means it maintains its own books of accounts. Equity and Fixed income trades are booked with Custodian. This necessitates a reconciliation to be done between the 3rd party system and Custodian system to ensure they are in sync.

The various types of reconciliations done are Cash, Positions, Performance and NAV.

Responsibilities include performing Cash, Position and NAV reconciliation on daily basis for Fixed Income accounts. This reconciliation is to be completed prior to the start of trading hours for the respective region and hence is highly time sensitive. The objective of the reconciliation is to provide traders with accurate cash & positions.

The type of breaks is Coupon, Paydown, Trade, Cash flow, Corporate action, etc. mismatch breaks.

This position will be located in Mumbai, India office of Client and would require the individual to work closely with Operations teams in our international offices.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Complete understanding of Equity and Fixed income product profiles.
  • Reviewing and actioning on the open breaks on daily basis.
  • Clearing of the breaks post thorough investigation internally.
  • Adhering to Service level agreements with global counterparts to ensure deliverables are signed off as per agreed timelines.
  • Liaising with global counterparts and vendor to ensure accuracy of books and records
  • Complete understanding of Fixed income product profiles.
  • Periodic Risk and Exception reporting to senior management
  • Involvement in projects related to the job function
