Role OverviewWe are looking for an AI Voice Agent Engineer / Conversational AI Developer who can build an AI calling agent from scratch for both inbound and outbound leads.
This role requires someone who can combine AI, voice workflows, automation, telephony, CRM integrations, and conversation design to create a reliable calling system that can speak with leads, qualify them, capture responses, route them correctly, and continuously improve performance.
The ideal candidate should be able to take ownership from strategy to execution from designing the call logic and agent prompts to integrating APIs, deploying the system, and optimizing it based on real call outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Build and deploy an AI-powered voice calling agent for inbound and outbound lead interactions
- Design end-to-end conversation journeys for different loan products such as home loans, LAP, business loans, school financing, and builder-related queries
- Create call flows for:
- lead qualification
- customer profiling
- document readiness checks
- follow-up reminders
- appointment booking / RM assignment
- missed call / callback handling
- Develop the logic for multilingual customer conversations, especially across Indian borrowers
- Integrate the AI agent with telephony systems, CRM, lead management tools, and internal workflows
- Build prompt architecture, intent mapping, fallback responses, escalation flows, and human handover logic
- Ensure the agent captures and structures customer responses accurately
- Set up dashboards, transcripts, disposition tagging, and performance analytics
- Improve the agent continuously based on call recordings, drop-offs, qualification quality, and conversion data
- Work closely with business, sales, ops, and tech teams to align the AI agent with real customer journeys
- Ensure data privacy, compliance, and appropriate safeguards in customer interactions
What the Person Will Build- Inbound AI qualification calls for fresh leads
- Outbound AI follow-up calls for warm and cold leads
- AI-based lead screening before RM allocation
- Basic multilingual voice interactions
- Call summaries and disposition reports
- Escalation to human teams where required
- Integrations with OneNDF's internal systems and workflows
Required Skills- Strong experience in building AI agents, voice bots, or conversational automation systems
- Hands-on experience with speech-to-text, text-to-speech, LLM workflows, and voice orchestration
- Experience working with APIs, webhook-based workflows, CRM integrations, and telephony platforms
- Good understanding of prompt engineering, conversational design, fallback logic, and structured response capture
- Experience in backend development and automation workflows
- Ability to deploy, test, troubleshoot, and optimize production-grade systems
- Strong problem-solving ability with an ownership mindset
- Comfort working in a fast-moving startup / fintech environment
Preferred Background- Prior experience in fintech, banking, lending, insurance, or lead qualification workflows
- Experience building AI agents for sales calls, support calls, lead conversion, or collections
- Familiarity with Indian customer conversations, multilingual flows, and telecalling processes
- Understanding of customer qualification logic for financial products
- Experience with dashboards, call analytics, and agent performance improvement
