AI Team Lead

We are hiring: AI Team Lead – VitaInspire

VitaInspire is building AI products for social good, focused on delivering measurable value to underserved communities across healthcare, agriculture, and education.

We are looking for a highly motivated AI Team Lead with around 2 years of AI product-building experience.

This role is for someone who can build hands-on, guide others, and help the team move from demo-level work to production-grade AI product delivery.

This is not a pure management role. We need someone who can build, review, mentor, and lead by example.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who can:

• Lead hands-on development of AI product features
• Deploy and integrate open-source AI/LLM models
• Support production deployment of VitaInspire products
• Guide the team in choosing the right AI tools, models, frameworks, and architectures
• Mentor junior engineers and interns
• Review work for quality, usability, reliability, and maintainability
• Break product ideas into clear technical tasks
• Help the team understand the difference between demo-level projects and real production-grade systems
• Stay updated with the latest AI developments and bring relevant tools into the product roadmap
• Work with ownership, urgency, and startup mindset

Skills we value

• Strong practical experience with AI/LLM-based applications
• Experience with AI agents, RAG, automation workflows, open-source models, or model deployment
• Strong Python and API development skills
• Familiarity with tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, Hugging Face, FastAPI, Supabase, PostgreSQL, React, Vercel, Render, AWS, GCP, or similar
• Understanding of production concerns such as security, reliability, monitoring, performance, privacy, testing, and error handling
• Ability to mentor and motivate a small team

Evaluation Structure

The role starts with a 2-month evaluation period:

Month 1: Remote evaluation

Basic stipend. Focus on technical strength, leadership potential, communication, ownership, and ability to deliver independently.

Month 2: Onsite evaluation in Hyderabad

Higher stipend. Focus on hands-on product delivery, mentoring, team leadership, and production deployment mindset.

Based on performance and deliverables, the role may be extended into a 6-month internship with a higher stipend.

Continuation depends strictly on performance, ownership, leadership, learning attitude, and quality of deliverables.
