Our AI stack increasingly relies on advanced LVLMs (Large Vision-Language Models) to extract, interpret, and process complex healthcare documents at scale. We are expanding our AI/ML team to accelerate our roadmap and enhance the sophistication, accuracy, and adaptability of our core AI systems.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled AI/ML Engineer with hands-on experience in modern multimodal AI systemsespecially Large Vision-Language Models such as LLaVA, Qwen-VL, Florence, or similar. The ideal candidate will help design, fine-tune, optimize, and deploy LVLM-based models that power SDS's document understanding and healthcare automation products.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, fine-tune, and optimize LVLM models for document classification, entity extraction, OCR enhancement, and intelligent workflow automation.

- Build scalable ML pipelines for training, evaluation, and deployment.

- Conduct model performance analysis and implement improvements.

- Work with proprietary and synthetic healthcare datasets while ensuring compliance.

- Collaborate with backend engineering teams for model integration.

- Implement model monitoring and retraining strategies.

- Research emerging AI/ML and multimodal techniques.

- Contribute to SDS's long-term AI roadmap.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.

- 4+ years industry experience in AI/ML engineering.

- Expertise with LVLMs (LLaVA, Qwen-VL, Pixtral, Florence).

- Strong knowledge of PyTorch or TensorFlow and transformers.

- Experience deploying ML models to production.

- Python proficiency and ML tooling familiarity.

- Cloud experience (Azure/AWS/GCP).

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with healthcare datasets.

- Familiarity with document intelligence pipelines.

- Experience fine-tuning LLMs or LVLMs.

- Knowledge of distributed training.

- Experience optimizing models for speed and scale.
