From AI-driven game generation to a rich library of built-in game engines, PupilPlay is a single unified platform for the entire game lifecycle. We are looking for a sharp, product-minded AI Gaming Engineer who can own this platform end-to-end.
The RoleAs an AI Gaming Engineer, you will be the primary technical owner of the PupilPlay Game Engine. You will work across the full stackfrom game engine internals and 2D/3D rendering to AI-driven game generation and cloud deployments.
This is not a typical write code and hand off role; you will be responsible for shipping, maintaining, and evolving the platform from frontend to infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- End-to-End Ownership: Lead the development of the PupilPlay platform, including feature engineering, bug resolution, and performance optimization.
- AI Integration: Build and improve AI-powered game generation pipelines using Google Gemini and the Vercel AI SDK.
- Game Development: Design and develop interactive games using Phaser 3, Three.js, and ammo.js (physics).
- Unity Refinement & Conversion: Refine existing Unity-based games and lead the technical conversion of Unity projects into high-performance web-based versions.
- Full-Stack Engineering: Build and maintain React-based frontends with TypeScript, Remix, and modern UI tooling.
- API & Backend: Develop and scale backend APIs using Node.js/Express with PostgreSQL (Neon).
- Infrastructure: Containerize and deploy services on Google Cloud Run using Docker.
- AI Orchestration: Integrate agentic AI workflows for automated game creation.
Required Skills & ExperienceGame Development
- Hands-on experience with Phaser 3 (2D) and/or Three.js (3D).
- Unity Specialist: Proven ability to refine Unity games, improve UI systems, and optimize WebGL builds.
- Strong understanding of game loops, physics engines, and rendering pipelines.
Full-Stack Web Development
- Proficiency in React (18/19) and TypeScript.
- Experience with Node.js and Express for backend API development.
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database design.
AI & Generative AI
- Practical experience working with LLM APIs (Google Gemini, OpenAI, etc.).
- Strong grasp of prompt engineering, structured output, and AI SDK integration.
- Proficiency with AI-powered coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, or OpenCode).
Our Tech Stack- Frontend: React 19, TypeScript, Remix, Vite, UnoCSS, Framer Motion.
- Game Engines: Phaser 3, Three.js, ammo.js, Unity (C# / WebGL).
- Backend: Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL (Neon).
