Ajna Lens is looking for an AI Embedded Engineer to join our product engineering team in Mumbai, India. This is a high-impact role for an experienced engineer who will help build next-generation smart AI glasses by combining embedded systems, edge AI, cloud AI, and wearable intelligence. The ideal candidate should have 4–5 years of experience in embedded software/firmware development with strong expertise in low-power systems, RTOS/Linux platforms, AI deployment, and real-time device optimization. This role demands strong ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to convert prototypes into production-ready wearable products.
Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
● Own and develop the embedded AI software stack for smart glasses running on low-power hardware platforms.
● Integrate on-device AI models and cloud AI services to enable real-time intelligent wearable experiences.
● Drive system optimization across latency, battery life, thermal performance, memory usage, and reliability for production devices.
Minimum Work Experience Required:
● 4–5 years in embedded software / firmware development for wearables, IoT devices, robotics, consumer electronics, or similar domains.
● Hands-on experience delivering products from prototype stage to production deployment.
● Strong exposure to cross-functional collaboration with hardware, AI/ML, mobile app, and cloud teams.
Top 5 Skills You Should Possess:
● Strong programming expertise in C/C++ for embedded environments with real-time systems fundamentals.
● Hands-on experience with RTOS including tasks, IPC, interrupt handling, and timing constraints. ● Deep understanding of Embedded Linux, kernel customization, bootloaders, BSPs, and Yocto build systems.
● Experience deploying Edge AI models on constrained devices using optimization and runtime integration techniques.
● Strong debugging and optimization skills across firmware, Linux logs, hardware bring-up, and battery-operated systems.
Full-Stack & System Awareness:
● Strong understanding of embedded software, SoC platform layers, boot flow, drivers, and root filesystem architecture.
● Experience integrating camera, audio, IMU, PPG sensors, BLE/Wi-Fi, and power management subsystems.
● Familiarity with cloud AI APIs, data pipelines, fallback architecture, and model-serving workflows. ● Awareness of companion mobile app connectivity across Android/iOS ecosystems. Leadership & Strategic Capabilities:
● Ability to independently own modules and deliver end-to-end embedded features.
● Strong problem-solving mindset with production-focused engineering discipline.
● Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerate product delivery.
● Strong documentation practices for design decisions, debugging workflows, and deployment processes.
Bonus Points For:
● Direct experience building AR glasses or head-worn wearable products.
● Experience with Qualcomm or equivalent wearable/mobile SoCs and BSP workflows.
● Knowledge of TensorFlow Lite, ONNX Runtime, or vendor AI SDKs.
● Experience with OTA firmware updates and AI model lifecycle management.
● Understanding of privacy/security for camera-enabled AI wearables.
