Job Description

Job Purpose

To plan, coordinate and carry out all Mech. Maint. Activities of Zone including breakdown, preventive and predictive maintenance of all the equipment of the plant keeping the maintenance cost within budget.

Job Context & Major Challenges

To maintain the health of equipment by timely and planned maintenance

Spares management and engineering stores inventory control

One of the major challenge is achieving efficiency target to sustain cost competitiveness.

Implementation of Capex projects in time To reduce overtime

Key Result Areas

	KRA (Accountabilities) (Max 1325 Characters)	Supporting Actions (Max 1325 Characters)
KRA1	Accountability: MAINTENANCE	To achieve maximum reliability of the equipment organizing preventive and predictive maintenance programs. To keep cost within the budget controlling maintenance cost. To carry out uninterrupted maintenance, proper planning of spare parts. Control inventory-carrying cost of engineering store to reduce inventory cost. Allocate required human, financial and material resources for executing maintenance work.
KRA2	PROJECTS	Provide assistance to Sr. Manager-Engineering in preparing and execution of Capex Plan, development activities and modifications. To increase productivity, Implement the equipment modification projects in time To improve power productivity of the plant, implement the energy saving projects
KRA3	ISO AND OHSAS SYSTEM	To maintain all the documents related to ISO 9000-2000, ISO-14000, OHSAS-18001 for Zone 1. To amend necessary changes in documents, procedure and others as & when if required. Close and take corrective action for all the NCRs during external or internal audits
KRA4	ENERGY MANAGEMENT	To carry out energy audits regularly. To implement in-house developments for energy saving activities
KRA5	SAFETY MANAGEMENT	Monitor and eliminate the unsafe acts and conditions for zero accidents and incidents in the Dept. To ensure 100% compliance with statutory requirements related to Mech. Maint. Dept Ensure safety plans are adhered to as applicable in the department with respective poet group, safety sub committee
KRA6	HRD ACTIVITIES	Prepare and implement annual skill development training matrix for members To educate, motivate and involve employees in the department in fulfillment of departmental objectives, prepare annual training plan. Control the overtime below the target
KRA7	WCM ACTIVITY	To flow the culture of WCM in the department. To facilitate the WCM team in implementing in actions, motivate the teams to achieve WCM targets.
