Job Description

Role: Agriculture Expert

Location: Niwas (Mandla) & Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh

The opportunity:

Agriculture Expert is responsible for developing and implementing sustainable agriculture practices on the field. The role involves to assess their current cropping practices, develop and implement sustainable agriculture plans, and build the capacity of project staff on sustainable agriculture practices. Agriculture Expert will also be involved in promoting efficient water management, climate-resilient agriculture practices and value chain development through different technologies and practices.

As an Agriculture Expert, you will:

  • Conduct sustainable agriculture assessments to identify their current practices and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement sustainable/ climate resilient agriculture plans in consultation with WOTR agriculture thematic head
  • Provide technical assistance and support to community and staff member on all aspects of sustainable agriculture, including soil management, water management, crop management, pest and disease management, and post-harvest management.
  • To identify and access resources for sustainable agriculture.
  • Build the capacity of project staff and community on sustainable agriculture practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of sustainable agriculture plans in the field and track the output and outcomes.

Apply if you have:

  • Masters degree in agriculture, horticulture, agronomy or related fields
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in working with organizations on agriculture development projects
  • Experience in working with different stakeholders such as government agencies, research institutions, NGOs, the private sector, etc
