Position Overview

The AGM / Senior Manager Procurement will lead the Procurement & Supply Chain function with strategic oversight of sourcing, vendor development, contract management, and end-to-end procurement operations (Domestic & International). The role requires a seasoned procurement professional capable of driving cost optimization, building strong supplier partnerships, and ensuring quality and timely delivery for ongoing projects across SRB's verticals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Strategy & Planning

Develop and implement annual procurement strategies aligned with business and project requirements.

Establish procurement budgets, cost-saving initiatives, and supplier optimization programs.

Identify sourcing opportunities, new technologies, and alternate materials to support business growth.

2. Vendor Management & Development

Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.

Conduct supplier audits, capability assessments, and performance evaluations.

Lead negotiations for long-term contracts, pricing, and service agreements.

3. Procurement Operations

Oversee the complete purchasing cycle: RFQ, comparative analysis, negotiation, PO issuance, tracking, and fulfillment.

Ensure compliance with procurement policies, documentation standards, and internal controls.

Monitor logistics, shipments, customs clearance, and delivery timelines (for import procurement).

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Engineering, Projects, Production, QA/QC, Finance, and Logistics teams.

Support project teams in material planning, forecasting, and procurement scheduling.

Address supply chain risks, bottlenecks, and ensure smooth execution of project timelines.

5. Cost Optimization & Market Analysis

Drive cost reduction through strategic sourcing, bulk procurement, supplier consolidation, and negotiation.

Conduct regular market intelligence on key materials, equipment, and commodities.

Benchmark pricing to maintain competitive advantage.

6. Compliance, Reporting & ERP Management

Ensure adherence to company policies, statutory norms, and audit compliance.

Maintain MIS reports related to procurement status, vendor performance, pricing trends, and savings.

Manage and optimize procurement activities via ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally / Other).

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Commerce / Supply Chain.

MBA in Supply Chain / Operations preferred.

1018 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management.

Experience in Mining, Metallurgy, Oil & Gas, Railways, Defence, EPC, or Heavy Engineering preferred.

Strong knowledge of domestic and international sourcing, import procurement, logistics, and commercial terms (INCOTERMS).
