A high-impact role in the Chemical Manufacturing & International Trade sector, focused on specialty and industrial chemicals sold to customers across APAC, EMEA and the Americas. The position drives cross-border commercial strategies, export operations, and regulatory compliance to expand global market share and margin performance.
Primary title (standardized): Assistant General Manager - International Business (Chemicals)
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end international business: define market entry, channel strategy, and growth plans for chemical product portfolios across target geographies.
- Drive direct sales and key-account managementnegotiate contracts, set pricing and commercial terms, and secure long-term supply agreements to maximise margins.
- Own export/import operations and trade compliance: manage Incoterms, export documentation, letters of credit, customs clearance and coordination with freight forwarders.
- Coordinate logistics for hazardous shipments, liaise with carriers, and ensure adherence to IMDG/IATA and GHS labeling requirements to minimise shipment risks and delays.
- Partner with regulatory, product and operations teams to ensure market-specific compliance (REACH/TSCA/GHS), timely SDS/labeling, and product registration where required.
- Build and mentor a high-performing international sales team; implement CRM and ERP processes, track commercial KPIs and deliver monthly P&L and performance reports.
