Job Description

Position: Agency Engineer Workshop Instrumentation

Department: Instrumentation

Functional Area: Workshop

Business/Function: Manufacturing

Reporting To: Sr. Engineer Instrument Workshop

Maximum Age: < 50 Years

Job Purpose

To assist in providing workshop services to instrumentation maintenance at the site during shutdown (S/D).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide workshop services to plant instrument maintenance.
  • Issue and manage spares at the workshop.
  • Maintain repair and test records for workshop activities at site.
  • Coordinate with other functions and follow up for repairs.
  • Prepare regular MIS and reporting documents.
  • Inspect material received from MMC to Workshop.
  • Ensure calibration of instruments received at Workshop as per SMP.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE requirements at site.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Timely execution of assigned jobs with safety and quality.
  • Proper record keeping and regular updation.

Key Relationships

  • Sr. Engineer / Engineer Workshop
  • Maintenance Lead Engineer / Maintenance Engineer

Educational Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation / Electronics Engineering

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience (for Degree holders)
  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience (for Diploma holders)
  • Experience in plant maintenance environment preferred

Scope of Work

  • Support workshop operations during plant shutdown.
  • Handle calibration, repair, and testing of instrumentation equipment.
  • Ensure documentation and compliance with safety standards.

Technical Competencies

  • Calibration and configuration of different types of transmitters.
  • Control Valves: Parts identification, bench setting, positioner setup and calibration, repairs and testing.
  • On-Off Valves: Parts, SOV testing, proximity switch setting, repairs and testing.
  • MOV: Parts, configuration, repairs and testing.
  • Pneumatic hook-up understanding and troubleshooting.
  • Temperature Element / Thermowell testing fundamentals.
  • Safety aspects associated with instrumentation workshop jobs.
