Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development of Aerospace Structures
- Lead the design, development, and validation of composite and metallic aerospace structures using CATIA V5/V6 (Part Design, Assembly, Drafting, Generative Shape Design, Composites Workbench).
- Develop laminate designs, ply books, and draping simulations to ensure structural efficiency and manufacturability.
- Oversee preparation of engineering documentation, BOMs, and configuration control in PLM systems (Teamcenter / ENOVIA / Windchill).
Technical Leadership & Mentorship
- Perform design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design teams.
- Act as a technical mentor, training junior engineers in CATIA and aerospace design principles.
- Drive process improvement, automation, and best practices in design methodology and CAD data management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with stress analysis, manufacturing, tooling, and certification teams to ensure design integrity and compliance.
- Support customer interactions, design reviews, and program delivery milestones.
Compliance & Standards Adherence
- Ensure adherence to airworthiness standards (EASA/FAA/CS/FAR) and aerospace quality requirements (AS9100).
- Apply strong knowledge of GD&T, ASME Y14.5, and aerospace drawing standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering / Mechanical Engineering.
- 712 years of experience in aerospace structural design, with a strong focus on composites.
- Expertise in CATIA V5/V6, particularly Composites Design & Aerospace Sheet Metal Workbenches.
- In-depth knowledge of composite materials, manufacturing processes (AFP, ATL, RTM, autoclave, hand lay-up), and repair techniques.
- Experience working with aircraft OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
