We're Hiring: Aeroelasticity Engineer
Gurgaon | Full-Time | Core Team
LAT Aerospace | STOL Aircraft
At LAT Aerospace, we're building a clean-sheet Short Take-off and Landing (STOL) aircraft to transform regional air mobility in India. We're looking for an Aeroelasticity Engineer to model, simulate, and validate aero-structural interactions including flutter, divergence, gust response, and control surface flexibility for both conventional and blown-wing configurations.
What you'll do
- Develop and validate coupled aeroelastic models (linear and non-linear) for full aircraft and wing configurations.
- Lead analysis of flutter, divergence, gust response, and buffeting using both analytical tools and FEM-CFD coupling.
- Simulate propulsor-wing aeroelastic interaction, including blown wing effects and thrust-induced deformation.
- Define test setups and instrumentation for ground vibration tests (GVT) and flutter flight tests.
- Support structural design trade-offs considering dynamic response and aeroelastic margins.
- Collaborate with controls engineers to develop aeroelastic-aware control strategies.
- Work with suppliers and internal teams to validate material models and structural stiffness in test articles.
- Document assumptions, methods, and margin criteria clearly for PDR/CDR gates.
What we're looking for
- Strong background in aeroelasticity, structural dynamics, and aircraft stability.
- Hands-on experience with tools like NASTRAN, ANSYS, or open-source FEM frameworks.
- Experience with aero-structure coupling and flexible aircraft analysis.
- Comfort with building custom tools in MATLAB, Python, or other scripting environments.
- Familiarity with flutter margins, load path analysis, and control surface flexibility.
Bonus: Experience with blown wings, propeller-induced aeroelastic effects, or distributed propulsion.
Why LAT
- Core team opportunity at a high-conviction aerospace startup
- Real hardware, real prototypes, and real flight tests
- Build the future of sustainable aviation in India
