About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven AEO / GEO Specialist to join our growing digital marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving our brand's visibility across traditional search engines, AI-powered answer engines, and geographically targeted search environments. You will develop and execute strategies that ensure our content surfaces prominently in AI-generated answers, voice search results, featured snippets, and local/global search results.
The ideal candidate is analytically minded, creative, and deeply passionate about the evolving landscape of search from classic SEO fundamentals to the cutting-edge world of Answer Engine Optimization and Generative Engine Optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)
- Optimize content to appear in AI-generated answers, voice search results, and featured snippets across platforms such as Google SGE, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Bing Copilot, and other LLM-powered surfaces.
- Conduct structured data and schema markup implementation (FAQ, HowTo, Article, Product, etc.) to enhance machine readability.
- Identify and target conversational, question-based, and long-tail keyword queries aligned with AI query patterns.
- Analyze SERP features and zero-click search trends to maximize brand presence in AI-driven environments.
- Develop content that directly answers user intent at every stage of the search journey.
Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)
- Craft content strategies specifically designed to be cited, referenced, and surfaced by large language models (LLMs) and generative AI tools.
- Monitor and analyze how generative AI platforms present brand and product information; identify and bridge content gaps.
- Build authoritative, trustworthy, and well-structured content assets (pillar pages, knowledge hubs, FAQs) that are favored by AI engines.
- Stay current with rapidly evolving GEO best practices, generative AI updates, and emerging search paradigms.
- Collaborate with content teams to produce AI-optimized copy that remains human-centered and engaging.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Lead end-to-end SEO campaigns including technical SEO audits, on-page optimization, and off-page link-building strategies.
- Conduct comprehensive keyword research, competitive analysis, and content gap assessments using tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, Google Search Console, and Screaming Frog.
- Optimize website architecture, internal linking, page speed, Core Web Vitals, and mobile-friendliness.
- Develop and execute content strategies aligned with target keyword clusters and user intent mapping.
- Build high-quality backlink profiles through outreach, digital PR, and strategic content partnerships.
- Track, analyze, and report on SEO KPIs including organic traffic, keyword rankings, CTR, bounce rate, and conversions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with content writers, developers, UX designers teams to align search strategies with broader marketing goals.
- Prepare regular performance reports and dashboards for stakeholders, translating data into actionable insights.
- Conduct A/B testing on meta titles, descriptions, content structure, and CTAs to continuously improve performance.
- Stay updated on algorithm changes, AI platform updates, and industry trends to proactively adapt strategies.
Required Qualifications
- 23 years of hands-on, demonstrable experience in AEO, GEO, and SEO roles.
- Proven track record of measurable results: improved organic rankings, increased featured snippet capture, or AI visibility.
- Deep understanding of how AI-powered search engines (ChatGPT, SGE, Perplexity, Gemini, etc.) generate and rank answers.
- Strong proficiency in schema markup, structured data, and semantic HTML.
- Expert-level knowledge of SEO tools: Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and/or Moz.
- Solid grasp of technical SEO concepts: crawlability, indexability, Core Web Vitals, site architecture, and XML sitemaps.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to brief and collaborate with content creators.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into clear strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Must have prior experience working with US-based finance and/or accounting websites this is a mandatory requirement.
- Prior experience working on US CPA (Certified Public Accountant) websites is a significant advantage and will be prioritised during candidate evaluation.
