Conflicts Analyst to join the
Ethics and Independence team in our
Assurance practice.
CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered remote which means it does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a CohnReznick office location. However, as a remote employee, you may be required to be present at a CohnReznick office with scheduled notice for client work, team meetings, or trainings.

This position will support our the National Director of Ethics and Independence team and the Conflicts Analyst helps identify and evaluate relationships across client entities, private equity investors, portfolio companies, and internal firm personnel that may present a conflict of interest or independence concern

YOUR ROLE.
Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To
- Input, review, and/or approve the accuracy and completeness of entity information, including additions and modifications, within the Firm's entity management applications.
- Collaborate with engagement teams to obtain accurate and complete entity information.
- Collaborate with engagement teams to correct inaccurate and incomplete entity information that is identified.
- Monitor data integrity of the Firm's entity management applications by completing ongoing evaluations of current entity information and researching corporate trees and affiliations.
- Monitor centralized conflicts team email inbox to assist with responses to engagement team inquiries regarding entity management applications and conflicts and independence.
- Reviews conflicts searches and analysis for new and existing client relationships and services.
- Analyzes and summarizes conflict reports associated with prospective and current clients to identify potential conflicts of interest.
- Performs corporate family tree (i.e., hierarchies and ownership structures, and fund relationships) research using public and subscription-based databases and incorporate updates as needed into conflict reports.
- Initiates conflicts clearance process and escalates conflicts and independence issues (e.g., situations involving affiliates with significant influence, employment and business relationships or nonattest services) as appropriate with clear analysis of the conflict and the conclusions reached so far.
- Maintains files for conflict research, communication with stakeholders, and analysis and conclusion of the conflict resolution in the firm's systems.
- Have an awareness of the professional standards including ethics and independence rules that apply to Accounting firms.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the Firm's Restricted Entity Lists.
- Performs other duties, projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
Your Experience.
The successful candidate will have:
Experience with conflict management, ideally with a public accounting firm, but experience with a law firm's conflict of interest will also be considered
- Minimum of 2-3 years of related experience, including conflicts identification and clearance, or other research experience in a public accounting or law firm setting
- Data management experience and ability to leverage technology to innovate and improve processes
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent communications skills and ability to articulate issues, rules, objective application of facts thereto, and conclusions drawn
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to preserve confidentiality and exercise discretion
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities
Preferred
- Database research experience and/or experience with corporate research resources (including CapitalIQ, Hoovers/Dunn & Bradstreet and/or Bureau van Dijk)
- Experience with conflicts search and/or risk management applications (including Kingland, Elite, and/or Intapp).
