Job Description

General Summary:

Qualcomm is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled SubSystem Integration and Test (SSIT) Engineer to join the automotive software validation team. In this role, you will work closely with platform and development teams to ensure the reliability and performance of complex vehicle software systems before deployment. Using Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) test systems that simulate real vehicle environments, you will design, automate, and execute advanced test plans to validate cutting-edge features in areas such as ADAS, infotainment, connectivity, and autonomy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, automate, and maintain test scenarios, procedures, and scripts using Python, C/C++, or Java.
  • Utilize HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) and SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) systems to simulate and validate software under real-world conditions.
  • Interface with Jenkins or other CI/CD pipelines to schedule and integrate automated tests.
  • Collaborate with development and system teams to debug and troubleshoot issues across software stacks.
  • Conduct log analysis, interpret results, and identify root causes using advanced debugging techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive test standards such as ASPICE and ISO26262.
  • Contribute to test planning for software validation at system and integration levels.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and advocate for test best practices.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant software/test experience, OR
  • Master's degree with 1+ year of relevant experience, OR
  • Ph.D. with project experience in systems/software testing.
  • 2+ years experience with one or more programming languages: Python, C, C++, Java.
  • 4+ years of experience in systems or software test engineering.


Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Strong hands-on experience in embedded systems, automotive testing, or platform integration.
  • Familiarity with Linux, QNX, or Android operating systems.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD and automation pipelines, especially Jenkins.
  • Background in machine learning or computer vision as applied to automotive use cases is a plus.
  • Proven knowledge of AI, camera, multimedia, or sensor validation is desirable.
  • Experience writing Python-based test automation frameworks and test orchestration tools.
  • Working knowledge of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN) is a plus.
  • Ability to create and maintain structured documentation, issue reports, and analysis reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively across teams.
