About the Role:
URVA Consulting is hiring an Accounts & Trade Compliance Manager on behalf of Agro Africa Trading Company, a Mumbai-based agro commodities trading firm.
This role involves managing India books of accounts, GST compliance, and trading-related accounting, along with close coordination with the Dubai office for financial reporting and transaction tracking.
The ideal candidate should come from an export-import / trading company background, with strong exposure to trade transactions, collections, and business operations. The role also requires close collaboration with the Managing Director (MD) and a strong understanding of overall business dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain complete books of accounts in Tally ERP
- Manage GST filings, compliance, and reconciliations
- Handle purchase, sales, and inventory accounting for trading operations
- Prepare stock reconciliation and trading profitability reports
- Manage banking transactions, CC/LC limits, and documentation
- Coordinate with the Dubai office on accounting entries and trade transactions
- Monitor import-related financial entries, duty payments, and documentation
- Prepare MIS reports for management review
- Ensure statutory compliance and financial accuracy
- Track receivables, collections, and working capital cycles
- Support business decision-making through financial insights
- Work closely with the MD on financial planning, reporting, and business understanding
Mandatory Requirements:
- 48 years of accounting experience in trading / export-import companies
- Candidates from commodity trading background will be preferred
- Knowledge of GST compliance and returns
- Hands-on experience with Tally ERP
- Experience in inventory accounting and stock reconciliation
- Exposure to bank limits, LC/CC, and trade finance
- Understanding of import-export transactions and documentation
- Strong Excel and MIS reporting skills
- Good understanding of collections and business cash flow cycles
- Candidate must be based in Mumbai (Western Suburb preferred)
Qualification:
- B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter preferred
