Job Description

Job Summary

The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations including invoice processing, statutory compliances (GST, TDS, PF, ESI), salary and vendor payments, data entry in Tally, and supporting HR-related documentation. The role requires high accuracy, timely statutory filing, coordination with internal departments, and interaction with external parties such as vendors, auditors, banks, and government portals.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts & Finance Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of invoices and tracking of receivables.
  • Rent, salary, and vendor payments processing for AIMS Institutes.
  • Tally Data Entry and Reconciliation of financial transactions.
  • Monthly TDS Payment (within 7th of every month) and Quarterly TDS Returns Filing (by 31st of the next month) with Form 16A generation.
  • GST Return Filing (Quarterly) and GST Payments (Monthly).
  • PT Return Filing (within 20th of every month).
  • PF and ESI Payments and portal updates.
  • Monthly salary statement preparation and documentation.
  • Bank reconciliation and liaison for bank-related activities.
  • Coordination with auditors for year-end audit finalization and document submission.
  • Interaction with students for fee-related issues and coordination with departments for fee collection.
  • Preliminary verification of employee joining documents and sharing with Director.
  • Verification and submission of joining reports and bank account details to Director.
  • Updating resignation letters and employment status to the Director.
  • Registration of new employees in PF & ESI portals, generation of UAN and ESIC numbers.
  • Verifying and submitting leave statements.
  • Collecting, printing, and filing monthly salary statements.
  • Collecting and distributing original documents of staff.

All accounting operations including payment handling, reconciliation, and compliance as mentioned above fall under the purview of this role.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance.
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in accounting and statutory compliance.
  • Proficiency in Tally ERP, MS Excel, and statutory portals (GST, TDS, PF, ESI).
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations, payroll processing, and reconciliations.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Must know English and Kannada.

Preferred

  • Experience in the education sector or multi-institutional accounting.
  • Exposure to audits and compliance management.
