We are looking for a skilled Accounts and Payroll Specialist with 2 to 5 years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting, with working knowledge of Canadian accounting practices and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations for Canadian clients, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for Canadian clients
- Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP) – process vendor invoices,reconcile accounts, and schedule payments
- Handle Accounts Receivable (AR) – generate invoices, apply receipts, and follow up on outstanding balances
- Prepare year-end financial statements and working papers in accordance with IFRS
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure proper classifications
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities
- Ensure compliance with Indian tax regulations(e.g.,GST/HST, payroll remittances where applicable)
- Coordinate with Canadian accountants and auditorsfor documentation and reporting
- Communicate directly with Canadian clientsregarding financial queries and support
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2 to 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting
- Strong understanding of Canadian accounting practices and IFRS
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets
- Excellent organizational and time managementskills
- Strong communication skills (spoken and written English)
- Ability to work acrosstime zones and coordinate with international clients
