Position Summary
Evernorth is seeking a results-oriented and collaborative manager to support our growing Accounting team at our Global Capability Center (GCC) location in Hyderabad. This critical role offers the opportunity to operationalize and execute accounting processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with global accounting policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid foundation in US GAAP reporting, and a commitment to continuous improvement. This individual will actively participate in the transition of certain accounting functions to the GCC and subsequently manage the day-to-day performance of accounting operations at the GCC location. Additionally, the role will support process excellence, and ensure timely financial close and reporting.
Summary Of Key Responsibilities
- Team Support and Leadership: Support recruitment, training, and development of a talented accounting team. Motivate team members to achieve their full potential and deliver high-quality results.
- Change Management: Implement change initiatives to enhance team performance and efficiency. Foster a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a strong foundation in US GAAP and statutory insurance accounting. Ensure compliance with relevant policies and standards.
- Continuous Learning: Encourage ongoing learning and professional development within the team. Stay updated on developments in accounting practices and technologies.
- Operational Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely delivery of accounting activities. Implement and maintain robust internal controls and processes.
Risk & Controls
- Drive effective execution and documentation of accounting controls within GCC accounting functions.
- Strengthen internal controls to minimize risks and ensure compliance with company policies, SOX, and NAIC Model Audit Rule (if applicable).
Process Excellence
- Ensure documentation of tasks, process workflows, and foundational artifacts necessary for effective process management and execution.
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, leveraging automation and technology.
- Collaborate with Global Finance teams as well as other partners to streamline workflows and standardize processes.
Business Partnership
- Maintain strong and productive engagement with US-based accounting team as well as GPO accounting partners based in India.
- Provide accounting insights to support operational initiatives and decision-making.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA, CA, ICWA, CFA, or CPA preferred).
- 12+ years of progressive experience in financial accounting, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in a managerial role within an accounting or finance function.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP reporting (required); experience with NAIC statutory reporting and reinsurance reporting is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to operationalize change and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite) and reporting tools (Hyperion, Oracle EPM).
